On December 29, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the first-year state awards for the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). The program provides $50 billion in federal funding to all 50 states from 2026 through 2030, with $10 billion distributed annually through CMS.
